Gintama Gets New TV Anime Series in April
New series based on
Hideaki Sorachi's action comedy manga to air on
TV Tokyo
The
Gintama event at
Jump Festa 2015
announced on Sunday that a new television anime series has been green-lit. The new series will premiere on
TV Tokyo and itsaffiliates in April 2015.
Hideaki Sorachi's original Gintama action comedy manga inspired a television anime that premiered in 2006 and continued (with several extended
hiatuses) until 2013. It also inspired two movies, including the "
final"
Gekijōban Gintama Kanketsu-hen: Yorozuya yo Eien Nare film that opened last year.
This year's Jump Special Anime Festa event tour
debuted a one-episode Gintama special in November. That special is
shipping on a DVD with the 58th manga volume on April 3, 2015.

A flyer inserted in Karino Takano's 13th Working!!(Wagnaria!!) comedy four-panel manga volume is revealing on Thursday that the third television anime
season will premiere in Japan in July. It also reveals that the title will be
Working!!! with three exclamation points.
The magazine lists the staff for the new season.
Yumi Kamakura (assistant director on
Inazuma Eleven GO,
Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea,
Pokémon: Giratina & The Sky Warrior,
Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew) will take over as director of the anime.
A-1 Pictures will animate the series,
monaca (
Aikatsu!,
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU,
Nyaruko: Crawling with Love!,
Star Driver,
Wake Up, Girls!) will return to compose the music, and
Shingo Adachi (
Sword Art Online,
Galilei Donna,
Rockman.EXE Beast+) will again design the characters and also serve as the animation director.

The story of follows high school freshman Sōta Takanashi who works part-time at a restaurant with strange staff members. When he starts his job, he meets the small, but elder Popura, the androphobic Mahiru, the cheerful Yachiyo, the stoic chef Satō, the gossip-loving cook Sōma, and the glutenous, lazy manager Kyōko.
Takatsu began the manga in
Shonen Gangan in 2005, and the manga already
inspired two television anime
seasons.
Crunchyroll streamed both series as they aired in Japan, and
NIS America licensed and
released both in North America under the title
