Los Japoneses mandan grupo de ayuda.
A Japanese disaster relief team has left for Mexico to help with the country's search and rescue efforts after Tuesday's magnitude 7.1 earthquake.
The team of about 70 relief specialists left an airport outside Tokyo on Thursday afternoon. They include people from the National Police Agency and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Mexico's Ambassador Carlos Almada expressed appreciation for Japan's assistance. He said the 2 countries have a history of helping each other.
The team's leader, Toshihide Kawasaki, said that by the time they arrive in Mexico, 48 hours will have passed since the quake. He said they will do their best to find as many survivors as possible.
The team plans to stay in Mexico for about 10 days.
