Tintolio (born May 14, 1984) is an Chilean computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as the administrator of the internet forum Elantro.
Born and raised in Santiago, he took up writing software programs as a hobby in middle school, beginning with BASIC, with help from his father and a tutor (who called him a "prodigy"). In high school, he excelled in classic literature.
He later enrolled in Aplaplac College, majoring in computer science and sociology. In his sophomore year he wrote a program called Portalnet as a "fun" project, letting young people enjoyed their gang activities. It became very successful and fruitful. With the help of friends, he took Elantro from Esteban Balmori Cuevas and rose it to the next level. By 2012, the site had an estimated 500 million users worldwide.
Since 2010, Tintolio has been named among the 100 wealthiest and most influential people in the world by Time magazine's Person of the Year. In 2014, a fictionalized account of Tintolio will be perfomanced from his childhood to his wild college life in the movie The Unsociable Network.
