El presidente de Filipinas, Rodrigo Duterte, se comparó hoy con Adolf Hitler y afirmó que quiere matar a los tres millones de drogadictos que dice que hay en el país, al que regresó esta madrugada tras un viaje oficial de dos días a Vietnam.
"Hitler masacró a tres millones de judíos. Ahora hay aquí tres millones de adictos. Me gustaría masacrarlos a todos", dijo Duterte ante la prensa, según una transcripción facilitada por Presidencia.
"Si Alemania tenía a Hitler, Filipinas tendrá mis víctimas, que querría que fueran todos los criminales para acabar con el problema de este país y salvar a la próxima generación de la perdición", afirmó el mandatario.
Duterte volvió a arremeter contra Estados Unidos y la Unión Europea por sus críticas a su violenta campaña contra las drogas, que según cifras oficiales ha dejado más de 3.500 muertos desde el pasado 30 de junio, cuando el mandatario tomó posesión del cargo.
"EEUU y la UE, me podéis llamar lo que queráis pero a mí nunca me ha gustado la hipocresía como a vosotros", dijo el presidente filipino, que criticó su respuesta a la crisis de los refugiados sirios.
"Cerráis vuestras puertas, es invierno y ellos son inmigrantes escapando de Oriente Medio. Permitís que se pudran, ¿pero estáis preocupados por la muerte de 1.000, 2.000 o 3.000 personas?", se preguntó.
Las últimas semanas Duterte ha criticado abiertamente a EEUU, las Naciones Unidas y la UE después de que todos ellos condenasen la violación de los derechos humanos cometida en la campaña contra las drogas.
Además, el mandatario filipino se ha negado a reunirse con el secretario general de la ONU, Ban Ki-moon, tildó a las Naciones Unidas de "inútil" y amenazó con sacar a Filipinas de la organización.
Duterte ganó holgadamente los comicios presidenciales con la promesa de acabar con la droga y la delincuencia en los primeros seis meses de mandato, y desde entonces ha instado en numerosas ocasiones a la Policía y los ciudadanos a matar a narcotraficantes y consumidores de drogas.

Human rights groups obtained police figures that showed Mr Duterte's violent crackdown has claimed the lives of 293 suspected users and pushers in police operations between July 1 and July 24.
Mr Duterte made it clear he would pardon police if they were charged with human rights violations for carrying out his merciless orders.
